Truth & The Hip Professor

“Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.” -Karl Marx

Scriptures are just not meant to be memorized. When God beckons us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, His intention is that we and His word become one. His word is meant to be grafted into our very souls producing a whole new way of thinking in regards to just about everything.

The practical application of a Christian worldview is critically important when we are in the process of formulating our own political and socioeconomic philosophy.  I do not remember a time, at least in my lifetime, when how we choose to be governed and who we choose to govern us will have long term generational impact on the future of our nation.

It is our responsibility to ensure that the philosophies of governance we are aligning with are not working against the purposes of God in the earth. More importantly, that we are not relinquishing our religious liberties and right of free speech at the behest of anti-christ movements.  The revelation of scripture, not the consensus of Twitter,  the hip professor on campus, or grandpas party affiliation is what should be determining our choices.  It is important to note that our knowledge of two scriptures, is markedly insufficient to uphold a belief system. We need a holistic  and studied understanding of what God values.

No matter how much free stuff is promised us as Christians, if the words “my object in life is to dethrone God” drives the philosophy behind it, then I humbly submit, that it all may be free, but we won’t be.
